Last Train Home: Award Winning Film Coming to Camden Maine

The Camden International Film Festival, in partnership with the Camden Conference and the Camden Opera House, will present a screening of one of 2010’s most acclaimed documentaries, LAST TRAIN HOME.  The screening will take place on April 20th at 7pm at the Camden Opera House, and is part of the CIFF Selects series, a traveling series of screening events highlighting exceptional works of nonfiction filmmaking throughout the state.

Recognized as one of the best films of 2010 for its artistry and craft, LAST TRAIN HOME was the winner of the prestigious IDFA Festival in Amsterdam.  The film also won numerous awards at the Cinema Eye Honors for Nonfiction Filmmaking, including best cinematography and best production, and was voted as the Best Documentary of 2010 by the LA Film Critics Association.

The Camden Opera House is a quick 2-3 minute walk from the Bed and Breakfast. Nice weekend getaway, great accomodations, dinner and movie.

The 7th Annual Camden International Film Festival will take place from September29th– October 2nd 2011, screening the best international documentary film to audiences in venues throughout Midcoast Maine. Fun exciting event that attracts hip young folk from the north coast to see innovative new films. Come and meet film makers, film producers, film enthusiasts.

The Camden International Film Festival, named one of the top 25 international film festivals for documentaries, will present features and short films from all across the globe.  
Carrying on the tradition of discussion that characterizes the Camden IFF, nearly every film will be accompanied by a post-screening Q&A with directors or producers. The festival will also expand upon its POINTS NORTH Forum. POINTS NORTH, founded in 2009, has grown this year to two full days and provides the New England filmmaking community an unparalleled opportunity to connect with industry leaders from ITVS, PBS, The Sundance Channel, ZDF-ARTE and a number of other funders, broadcasters and independent executive producers. In total, nearly fifty industry representatives and filmmakers will be in attendance over the course of the four-day festival.
 
Passes Available Online
Tickets to the 2011 Camden International Film Festival are available online at www.camdenfilmfest.org. Pass options include: the VIP Pass for admittance to all screenings, panels, special events and parties throughout the weekend; and the Festival Pass for admittance to all screenings and panels. Full passes to the two-day Points North Forum also are available online. Day passes to the Points North Forum and individual tickets can be purchased at the appropriate venues on the day of show. Venues include the Strand Theater, the Camden Opera House, the Bayview Street Cinema, the Rockport Opera House, and the Farnsworth Art Museum.
