Our Location

Windward House is within the High Street Historic District in Camden covers High Street from Maine Street up to Sherman Point Rd. Camden is in Knox County, which has many points of interest listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the lot upon which the Windward House stands was once owned by General Knox.

We try to make it as useful and informative as possible.

We have a Maine Personal Growth Travel page, which has some of the information from our old soft Adventure Travel page, but with new ideas for those interested in indulging in more than just great views, fresh air and world famous seafood. We have pages that describe our spacious inn rooms and inn suites. We have five rooms with Queen beds, three with King Beds, including Harbor Carriage, Quarterdeck, and Crow’s Nest; and one room that may be arranged with two twin beds, we have three suites and five rooms. Two of our rooms have clawfoot soaking tubs, two have private decks, and one has a great view of Mt. Battie! We can accommodate adults and or children, although most of our rooms can only accommodate two adults (double occupancy). Please ask if you have any questions. All of our rooms have air conditioning, cable television and private baths, and all of our rooms come with a full menu breakfast in the morning, and afternoon tea, which includes cake and coffee. Some of our rooms have single person jacuzzi tubs, and two have their own mini refrigerators.

A Short Trip from Boston, Equidistant from Portland and Bar Harbor

Windward House B&B is about four hours from Boston, two hours from Portland, about an hour and forty minutes from Bar Harbor, ten minutes from Rockland, an hour from Augusta, – just check our map; A great B&B equidistant from Bar Harbor and Boothbay Harbor all the activities of both, with less crowds in a year round town, and one of the prettiest harbors in the world– called by many “The Jewel of the MidCoast” -, the perfect place to spend a few days.
For those unfamiliar with the Maine Coast, Camden Maine is a unique place; many have called it a magical place. Situated in a harbor named one of the top ten prettiest in the world, and surrounded by the scenic Camden Hills State Park, on the Penobscot Bay, with the largest fleet of traditional historic wooden Schooners, the famed sailing ships of a bygone era, it truly feels like a place lost in time.
There are many things to do here, and the Windward House’s location makes it the ideal place to stay when visiting Camden Maine.
