Our COVID-19 Safety Practices

To ensure your health and safety during your stay here at Camden Windward House, you may notice some changes in our normal routines. Rest assured, our goal still remains to provide you with the best possible experience while staying with us.

During your stay

We are asking all guests to please follow the CDC guidelines for hand-washing and sanitizing. Bottles of hand sanitizer are in your guest room, front and back entrances, and guest pantry.

Masks are required in all common areas and also recommended when wandering around Camden and nearby towns. It is highly recommended to have your masks with you when visiting shops or restaurants while following social distancing guidelines.

We will welcome you to our bed and breakfast wearing our masks. During check-in, we will discuss our policies and safety procedures briefly and then continue on with our normal check-in process.  All room keys are sanitized between each reservation.  In order for us to remain socially distant throughout your stay, we will be using a text messaging service to communicate with our guests for anything you need.

Enhanced Safety Procedures

We are using enhanced safety and cleaning protocols as outlined by the CDC and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. Immediately after checkout, we are spraying all surfaces in the room with Lysol as well as leaving the windows open for air movement.  Common areas are sanitized often during your stay along with doorknobs and handles. Any staff member of Windward House will only be working if feeling 100% healthy.

Also, we will not enter your room during the duration of your stay. If you need anything during your stay, you can let us know via text message and we will coordinate a time that we can exchange and replenish items in your room.

Breakfast

We are still serving breakfast in our dining room with assigned seating times (which will be communicated to guest at check-in) with limited tables. Additional seating is available on the back porch or in those rooms that have private decks, weather permitting. If a family is staying in more than one room, they may sit at the dining room table together.

The guest pantry is open 24 hours and has a Keurig machine available for coffee and a hot water dispenser for tea.  The pantry will be sanitized frequently. Freshly brewed coffee is available at breakfast.  Unfortunately, the CDC has recommended we do not offer snacks at this time.

Policy Changes

We are relying on our guests to follow best practices and to only travel if they are healthy and have not been exposed to the Coronavirus in any way.  With that being said, we have temporarily updated our cancellation policies until further notice.  Any reservation that is made and needs to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus or as a result of it will be refunded fully minus a $25 credit card fee.    We also can offer you a gift certificate while waiving the credit card fee, or have you rebook a later date if desired.
